Hypothermia can be a cause of death. Your citizens can get hypothermia during [[winter]] if they aren't given [[Clothing|clothes]] to keep them warm while outside or don't live in a [[house]] with access to [[firewood]] or [[coal]] where they can warm up. Hypothermia is a greater problem when playing with harsh conditions, since the winters can get much colder in this setting.

Clothing will increase the time a citizen can survive without going to a house to warm up, but citizens with clothing can still die of hypothermia.  


Citizens on the verge of getting hypothermia is marked with a snowflake above their heads. Unless provided with [[Clothing|clothes]] or a [[house]] with [[firewood]] soon they might die. [[House]]s might also have a snowflake above them, indicating that they are lacking firewood, thus being cold and not able to warm citizens.
Citizens will first try to go to their own home to warm up. If their home does not have any fuel or they are homeless, they will instead go to the nearest home. Because of this, citizens on the "march of death" can be saved by being made homeless.
