Any number of unpleasant fates can strike the citizens of a town in Banished. "Disasters," however, refers to specific group of unpleasant occurrences. When creating a new game, you have the option to turn disasters on or off. This option will affect items listed as "Disasters" below, but will have no affect on "Non-Disasters."

Disasters

• Tornadoes
• Fire
• Pest infestation of fields and orchards
• The ability of livestock to develop diseases.

Non-Disasters

• Starvation
• Hypothermia
• Disease outbreaks among citizens
• Harsh winters and dry summers
• Work related accidents
