A Hunting Cabin in a forest.

Citizens who work in hunting cabins will hunt for deer in forests, producing venison, which is a source of food. It can be vital in the early stages of the game to feed the population before the player has acquired seeds for farming.

Overhunting does not occur. See Tips#A few common myths debunked.

Hunting Cabin

Main article: Hunting Cabin

Hunting only occurs within a specified radius around the hunting cabin. Therefore, hunting is most effective when the cabin is placed away from the main part of a village as deer tend to avoid more populated areas. The hunting cabin can support up to 3 hunters, but only requires 1 to function.
