Stone is obtained through mining loose rock spread over the map. It is needed to build many structures in Banished.
To obtain stone select the Collect Stone button, the fourth on the resources menu, from the and overlay a selection box with the mouse, indicating an area where citizens will collect stone from.
Once all the loose rock has been mined, more rock can only be obtained through mining or more dangerous rock quarries that require a large workforce.
