The Gatherer's Hut is used to define an area for collection of roots, berries, mushrooms and onions as an alternative to farming to get food for citizens.
The production rate depends on the surrounding tree density and not the age of trees.[1]
Trivia
- The Gatherer's Hut used to be called the Gatherer's Shelter in early builds of the game.
- The efficiency of the Gatherer is increased greatly when put next to a foresters lodge with cutting trees turned off. (More trees = More food)
- The gatherer can only get food from mature trees, saplings don't help.
